My Thuan 2 Bridge is located on the expressway axis from Ho Chi Minh City to Can Tho City, connecting the two expressways Trung Luong - My Thuan and My Thuan - Can Tho, linking Vinh Long province and Tien Giang province. The bridge is part of the component project of the North - South Eastern Expressway phase 2017 - 2020. The My Thuan 2 Bridge project has a total length of 6.61 km, 350m upstream from the existing My Thuan Bridge. The total investment of the project is 5,003 billion VND.

The main bridge of My Thuan 2 Bridge has a length of about 1.9km, the bridge surface width is 28m, the scale is 6 lanes with a design speed of 80km/h. The bridge has a cable-stayed structure with two planes of cables, the main span is 350m with the main beam made of steel-reinforced concrete in the shape of the letter “Pi”. The 2 A-shaped towers are over 125m high, placed on a bored pile foundation with a diameter of 2.5m and a depth of up to 113m. My Thuan 2 Bridge is considered the first cable-stayed bridge entirely designed and constructed by Vietnamese engineers and workers, in which the construction of the bridge’s bored piles with the largest diameter and depth to date is considered a miracle of the Vietnamese bridge industry.
