Hoang Van Thu Bridge plays an extremely important role in connecting the center of Hai Phong with the new urban area north of Cam River, opening up a new development space towards the north of Cam River. The project has a total investment of 2,173 billion VND. The bridge is designed according to the “Seagull Wing” model, a steel tube arch bridge with concrete running in the middle, the main span is 200m - which is the largest arch bridge span in Vietnam today.

Hoang Van Thu Bridge is designed to be permanent with steel, reinforced concrete, and prestressed reinforced concrete, with a width of 33.5m, a length of 1570m; the ship clearance is 125m wide, 25m high. The main part of the bridge is a steel tube arch bridge with concrete with a diagram of 45 + 200 + 45m with a steel composite deck beam system. The bridge and the southern approach are designed with 2 symmetrical circular branches arranged with two layers of cast-in-place beams, the northern approach bridge combines the Super-T main line beam structure and the continuous beam structure at the branches.
